(circa 2005) At lunchtime towards the end of high school, we played this game called Milk Bottle. The object of the game was to spell MILK one letter at a time (reverse of HORSE, where you try not to spell it). In the game, everyone playing (at least three people, but more fun with 6-10, crazy hilarious with more) stands in a circle. Someone then throws the bottle at the ground (must be pavement), causing it to bounce up, usually about 10-15 feet up in the air. Once the bottle has bounced, it’s your job to try to catch the bottle. If you catch it, you get a letter. Once the bottle has been caught or hits the ground again, the round is over.
Now, the rules are very specific on catching the bottle. You must catch it with one hand and one hand only. One. Hand. No arm cradles. Your fingers have to be wrapped around that bottle. You must snatch it out of the air; no “Newtoning,” which is where you swipe it going up or down with the direction of the bottle, thus making it easier to catch. Newtons are unfair advantages for taller people.
One strategy is to “bobble” the bottle. Bobbling occurs when someone hits the bottle with their hand, either as a failed attempt to catch the bottle or to purposefully knock it away from someone else. It is poor form to smack it out of the air in such a way that no one can catch it. Smack Downs are grounds for being called a Total Douchebag and won’t be tolerated by veteran players.
Bobbling is also a way to impress fellow players, as bobbling often happens accidentally. If you bobble it in your direction, but it goes too far our of the frenzy, you can chase it down as far away as possible. But remember, as soon as it hits the ground, it’s dead and the round is over. Solo bobbling during a chase is only impressive if you end up catching it, especially if you lay out to catch it.
It sounds dumb and stupid and easy BUT IT’S NOT OKAY.
Videos or it didn’t happen.

I was considering buying this book but this video has re-piqued my interest. Nothing better than a great book of photography.
