When we got home I was so visibly shaken I told my mom what we had just seen then she got all scared and said, “You’re moving with your auntie and uncle in Bel-Air.” Oh I got you good, you f*ckers.

Progress check. This is what I’m working with so far. The back features a wraparound with the stars motif and I’ve got some ideas for the inside that I just need to work out the logistics of for the inside. I’m pretty sure that I’m going to be making the package from scratch.
I truly have no idea what I’m doing with this and I’m sure I’m biting off more than I can chew. I mean, when’s the last time I bought a CD? Like November of 2004 (Stevie Wonder’s The Definitive Collection). But I’m determined to score an A on this assignment because I REALLY need it. Moreover, how crappy am I gonna feel if I get a lousy grade on an assignment that also happens to be an extension of my identity; linking my musicianship to my illustration? Exactly.

OCAD's Dinner With Diamond makes FML?
Today, I got an email from my University informing me that I was invited to an exclusive dinner for 25 people. As I continued to read through the email, I discovered that I wasn’t lucky or special, but that the dinner was for financially unstable students. They think I’m a charity case. FML

Drawing a character of two random girls you meet on the street then leaving it on their windshield hoping they want to hang out sometime doesn’t work…or does it?When I was 18, an adorable hippie skateboarder type made me an origami box with a little note inside and gave it to me on the bus. We dated for 3 months. Out of the box approaches almost always work. And if the object of attention doesn’t get it, they are probably uptight and boring.
Completely agree… it’s adorable and original, not to mention totally flattering.
Totally inapplicable to me here. Perhaps back home in Cayman, but here in Toronto, not only does no one I know drive but I also go to art school. You know, where EVERYONE can draw reasonably well and slick illustrations are “the norm”. Origami, however, seems to be a viable option…
P.S. True Story: I gave out free sketches on my last day at work and one girl I gave one to added me on Facebook. Turns out we have mutual friends :)
